Contributing to build a more sustainable future is a responsibility that all the staff in Pelfim share, having developed it by working for several years in the world of leather goods and the Florentine manufacturing world.
Pattern development. Manufacturing. Logistics and Quality control. Sales and Customer care.
Each department carries out its own tasks and activities, but all are united by the common goal of leaving a world to future generations where respect for the environment and for the people is the norm and not the exception.
Before putting together our skills and founding Pelletteria Fiorentina Montecristo, we have worked side by side with many internationally renowned designers, and produced and distributed leather goods all over the world.
The designer's idea takes shape. The sketch captures its essence; and transforms it into a drawing destined to become a product that will convey the style of a brand.
The designer sketch is transformed into a paper-pattern. Measurements are taken, proportions are studied and materials are selected, always following the creative premises set forth by the designer's style.
The prototype, realised with specific cad-cam programmes, has a double function: to materially interpret the designer's idea and to analyse its technical feasibility.
Craftsmanship blends with technology. The uniqueness of the prototype is modelled to the logic of industrial production without, however, forgetting the attention to every single detail, typical of Italian manufacturing tradition.
The idea becomes substance, the product comes to life. The cutting-edge tech and machinery available at our plant complete and finish off the quality work of the careful handmade skills applied by our staff.
The attentive and impartial eye of an external company closes the production cycle with a quality control process that leaves very little margins of error. When asked, Pelfim can support its customers in the management of distribution and logistics, as this is part of its know-how.
In our creative lab the craftsmanship of the Florentine manufacturing tradition meets the modern technology in an industrialized production cycle that transforms ideas into high-end leather goods, both for the Italian and foreign markets.
We make leather goods that are wearable, durable and able to meet the stylistic features of the brand (and its target); we only select partners to work with who share our values.
RAW MATERIALS ANALYSIS
RAW MATERIALS ANALYSIS
STRESS TESTING OF PRODUCTS
The research of raw materials is a daily task for Pelfim: when drawing his/her sketch, the designer inevitably influences and directs the choice of materials to be used in realising the product.
Cotton, cellulose, polyester, anodized aluminium, recycled paper, natural rubber: choices aren’t left to chance. Identifying the right material, testing its composition and performance in our specialized labs, and measuring its social impact are the way of working which allows us to create quality products without ever losing sight of innovation, sustainability and social commitment.
Rubber | Natural rubber extracted from the rubber tree and processed by small local communities in the Amazon rainforest.
Anodized aluminium | A resistant material, with an excellent aesthetic result, completely ecological and easily recyclable.
Faso Dan Fani | The cotton made by hand by the Burkinabè weavers, known all over the world for its peculiar striped pattern.
